Please take note the following. Failure to do so could mean that Panasonic Scholarship Students may lose those status. - The nominated students are required to be enrolled as research students in Japanese graduate school in April 2009 and to be enrolled in a master’s course at graduate school no later than April 2010.
Therefore, the nominated students must contact an academic adviser or a supervising professor/instructor without delay to obtain informal consent from the academic adviser and finish application for enrollment as early as possible within 2008 in order to receive Notice of Entrance Permission issued by the university, which is necessary for the student to obtain a visa to enter Japan. - The nominated students are required to take Level-3 or above for Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) conducted in each country at the beginning of December 2008.
The nominated students are also requested to make efforts to attain Level-1 or the equivalent level by the time of enrollment in the master’s course. - The nominated students must compile all the necessary documents, and follow the required procedures and preparations for getting a passport and a visa for entry into Japan and reserving accommodation before their arrival in Japan.
The nominated students must have sufficient funds to cover all initial expenses, including traveling expenses to Japan, admission fees to be paid to his/her university just before and after arrival in Japan, and interim expenses incurred upon arrival in Japan before payment of the scholarship. The first scholarship payment will be made in April 2009 right after the award ceremony - The nominated students are required to observe Panasonic Scholarship’s Rules and follow instructions given by the Panasonic Scholarship Office and to submit the necessary documents such as a monthly report and Japanese language progress report etc. without delay.
